CPM Community Partners, the philanthropic arm of Chicago Parking Meters, LLC (CPM), lent its support to the Greater Chicago Food Depository’s “Sharing It Day” at the Merchandise Mart by contributing $10,000 to the food bank.
“The Greater Chicago Food Depository is an outstanding organization that does so much to feed the hungry,” said CPM General Counsel Rahsaan Sales. “Their needs are greater than ever, and we are proud to be able to do something to support them.”
CPM joined several of the Food Depository’s partners, as well as students from the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences and several choirs from around the city, at the annual event.
“We are grateful for the support of Chicago Parking Meters this holiday season," said Kate Maehr, CEO and Executive Director of the Greater Chicago Food Depository. "It takes the support of the entire community to help us meet the growing demand. The Food Depository and its network now serve one in eight Chicagoans."
CPM Community Partners launched in June 2010 with a goal of providing financial assistance to organizations that promote growth and development of children and support for issues that affect families. CPM Community Partners has already contributed to a number of Chicago organizations, including the National Foundation of Teaching Entrepreneurship and Chicago Youth Centers, Girls-on-the-Run and the Avon Breast Cancer Awareness Program.
